Premium / discount
Premium and discount describe price above or below the midpoint of a selected dealing range.
Rules to keep
- Above the range midpoint = premium; below it = discount; 50% = equilibrium.
- Select the relevant swing range and timeframe before using the labels.
- The lessons favour bullish inversion context in discount and bearish inversion context in premium, with confirmation.
- The daily open is a separate reference. Buying below it/selling above it is contextual guidance, not a signal.
- The midpoint of an individual FVG is also separate from the midpoint of the dealing range.
