Premium / discount

Premium and discount describe price above or below the midpoint of a selected dealing range.

Rules to keep

  1. Above the range midpoint = premium; below it = discount; 50% = equilibrium.
  2. Select the relevant swing range and timeframe before using the labels.
  3. The lessons favour bullish inversion context in discount and bearish inversion context in premium, with confirmation.
  4. The daily open is a separate reference. Buying below it/selling above it is contextual guidance, not a signal.
  5. The midpoint of an individual FVG is also separate from the midpoint of the dealing range.
